This is release 1.0 of the card matching game MatchCard. The purpose of this game is to teach children the upper and lower case letters of the alphabet. The user clicks on one card to turn it over, then another card. If the second card has the same letter on it as the first, though in a different case, this is a match. The cards are then removed from the board. If they are different, then both cards are turned face down. This continues until all the cards are gone.
Changed in 1.0.1:
• Redid About box as a PPob without DDG and Reg buttons.
• Removed Reg menu
• Removed AELaunch code because it launched the newest reg app and not mine.
• Added URLCaption, with DDG URL and Mailto URLs in About Box
Changes since 0.9:
• Fixed bug with preference now allowing a default pref.
• Check for ability to run. (Needs colors)
• Made main window resizeable.
• Added pref to allow turning off of sound.
• Added pref to no show score.
• Changed score panel to hortz.
• Changed card artwork. Fix cosmetic bugs.
• Clicking the default deck check box with no default deck now shows Open File.
• Changed registration method
• All decks are included. The A-Z deck may have too many cards for smaller children.
Preferences
There are three preferences you can set via the preferences dialog. It is important to set these preferences when you first use MatchCard or it will be difficult for young children to use.
• Number of seconds to show card after mismatch.
This is how long both cards will be visible before they are turned back face down when they don't match.
• Automatically open default deck on launch.
You may tell MatchCard to automatically open a deck of cards and start a new game when you launch the program. This is especially good when you have small children who may have trouble using the standard Open File dialog.
• Default deck.
Clicking this button brings up the standard Open File dialog so you can choose which card deck will be opened on launch.
• Sound.
Clicking this button turns off the sound in the game.
• Show Score Pane.
Clicking this button will hide or show the score panel when a new game is started.
• I Paid (Don't show splash at startup).
Clicking this button will keep the splash screen from coming up when the program launches. You should only do this when you have paid your shareware fee.
